Cameroon
Cameroon has joined Burkina Faso in the AFCON semi finals after both teams won their quarter final matches on Saturday.
Burkina Faso was the first team to book a ticket to the last four of the competition after it overcame Tunisia 2-0 in the first quarter final tie.
Substitute Aristide Bance scored with a low drive from a free kick after 81 minutes as the match seemed destined for extra-time before Prejuce Nakoulma doubled the lead three minutes later to send Tunisia packing.
In the second quarter final match, Cameroon edged fancied Senegal 5-4 in post match penalties to send its supporters in wild celebration.
In a match which both teams missed chances in both the normal and extra-time, Senegal’s Sadio Mane was the villain as his spot kick was saved by Cameroon’s goalkeeper, Joseph Ondoa.
Senegal is currently ranked first in Africa and was one of the tournament favorites.
Cameroon will now play either Ghana or DR Congo for a place in the final next week while Burkina Faso will meet the winner of Egypt and Morocco tie.
